She is not lost.. in Bali

Travel

Hello everyone! Hope you’re all doing well.

In January 2019, I embarked on one of the best adventures of my life to Bali, this travel experience felt more on a spiritual level where I was actually living more in the moment than always trying to pull out my camera phone to capture every single thing I was looking at or experiencing.

Oh I did… but not as often. 😉

This was my second trip to Bali, the first time I stayed in Ubud but this second trip I stayed a few days in Canggu recommended by a friend and Gili Trawangan but more on this island post later.
Cangguu is my kind of place…there is more buzz than Ubud..but enough peace to still relax.. one of the best sunset places. A great range of healthy and vegan options if that’s your thing. On the first day, I woke up at 4am to drive about 2 hours to watch the sunrise from Mt Batur a truly magical experience as there wasn’t many tourist around, just myself and 2 other tourist.. winning!

After watching the sunrise which started ended about 630am we began our journey to Tirta Empul Gianyar, where water is purified by Hindus in Bali. Although, I did not go into the Holy Water, the temple was so beautiful and cool to wander around. There is just an instant feeling of being calm and relax.

And then it was time to visit a coffee plantation and the Bali swings. At the coffee plantation I spent the whole time speaking to a young local who had dreams to move to Dubai and whom enthusiastically captured my moments here.

We then journeyed to Kanto Lampo Waterfall. Hidden away from Bali, peaceful place to escape and roam with such freedom. Entry fee of 15.000 Rupiah. (disclaimer: entry cost as of Jan 2019).

It was here at this waterfall where I really felt my spiritual journey  really began. Maybe it was the sound of waterfall, just something about it, felt such serenity and happy, meeting a few Balinese people who wanted to have fun with us, taking photos of us, and where I wasn’t dressed for the occasion but felt so liberated and free going into the water with half my dress rolled up.

Oh yes, I slipped falling quite hard on my butt and hurting my hand. Nothing serious. A big smile came on my face as it happened. That’s just part of the adventure.

After the visiting the Waterfall we drove about 2 hours back to Canggu where the exploration ended at about 1pm. You’re either a breakfast person or not, but I am a breakfast worshipper and yes I did have breakfast at 1pm because #YOLO

This was a Vegan brekky plus a regular flat white cost 115.000 Rp in total (inclusive of service and got tax). 😉
