Discover Ha Long Bay, Vietnam

a world heritage site, the beautiful ha long bay in vietnam

My tour began at 8am with Urban Adventures and we had to meet in front of the Opera which was about a 20 minute walk from my Hotel. The night before I did a quick prep and walked from my Hotel to Opera at night trying to memorise the way amongst the hustle and bustle, and the continuous honks..

The next day it was just my luck bucketing down with rain and my Flamingo Vans had not dried up yet since I got them wet a few days before whilst visiting Tad Sae Waterfall. So my other option was my trusty thongs aka flip flops which at the time I thought should be Ok since I wouldn’t have to deal with wearing wet socks. It was now 7:30am and I was ready within 10 minutes with no umbrella I made my way, also things seem to look a little different now that was in the day. Kinda realising maybe it wasn’t such a smart move to wear thongs in the rain..ugh..trying not to slip with every step I decided to get off the pathway and walk on the road instead which had more grip but meant less water protection. Got myself a raincoat half way and arrived at 8:15am a little freaked out they may of left without me, good thing they waited. 🙂

I had such a great time with Urban Adventures, our travel guide was very friendly and informative and so helpful. Ha Long Bay is a World Heritage Site, a place of ethereal beauty, with many towering limestone pillars and scatters of islands.
